J'ai eu la chance d'avoir pu photographié et filmé la guêpes fouisseuse dans ma cour,
de la voir chasser et paralyser une araignée crabe, de l'enfouir dans le puits qu'elle avait
creusée, de pondre un oeuf sur celle-ci puis de reboucher le tout. L'araignée paralysée
servira de nourriture fraiche à la larve car une araignée peut survivre sans manger pendant
plusieurs semaines, voir jusqu'à 200 jours (parfois plusieurs mois pour certaines espèces).

I was lucky enough to photograph and film the Great black wasp in my yard, watching it hunt and
paralyze a Yellow crab spider, bury it in the pit it had dug, lay an egg on it, and then seal everything up.
The paralyzed spider will serve as fresh food for the larva, as a spider can survive without eating
for several weeks, or even up to 200 days (or several months) for some species.
