This is a relatively small, low octagonal tower mill. The mill was built on this site in 1882, for which the wooden octagonal structure of an older polder mill from Friesland (possibly from 1823) was reused.
It is a functioning grain mill, De Vlijt, which is used weekly by volunteer millers to grind grain.
