De Vliet river/canal, "Bovenhoofd" bridge (1887) and the Dorpskerk (first built 1653)

Sluiskant, Leidschendam, The Netherlands view map

The Vliet was originally a river. In the Middle Ages, the Vliet was an important connection between the Old Rhine and the Meuse. Nowadays, the Vliet is canalized.

The Dorpskerk (village church), nicknamed De Peperbus (Pepper Shaker), is an eight-sided domed church on the Delftsekade near the historic centre of the Dutch town of Leidschendam.
