The Judicial Council ensures that judges can do their job properly and represents the interests of the Judiciary in politics. It promotes the common interest of the courts externally, provides for cross-court facilities, supervises business operations and financial management and, where necessary, provides general instructions in the field of business operations.
The Judicial Council was established in 2002 as an independent buffer between the judiciary and the government. The Council is part of the judiciary, but does not administer justice itself.
