Ballymascanlon Village is an unique row of seven interconnected cottages in County Louth that is often described as the "smallest village in Ireland". The cottages were built around 1820 as part of the nearby Ballymascanlon estate. They originally served as homes for the estate's workers. The homes stand out due to their Gothic elements, such as the characteristic pointed arch windows and the striking, decorative chimneys. In the past, a small shop and a post office were also part of this row, making it function as a self-contained mini-village.
Update 2026: Today, the buildings are owned by the Ballymascanlon Hotel & Golf Resort. Although they are listed as protected monuments, they are currently in a dilapidated state and are largely empty.
