The Greenore Lighthouse, built in 1830, also known as the Greenore Point Lighthouse, is a distinctive structure that boasts a rich history despite the industrial environment of the port.
It is a relatively small, round stone tower with a height of only 11 meters (36 feet). The dome features red wrought-iron railings and a weather vane. The lighthouse was permanently extinguished on August 1, 1986. Modern harbor lighting on the quay made the old tower obsolete. Before it went out of service, it was converted from oil to electric lighting in 1949. The lighthouse stands on private property, making it difficult for the public to access, and furthermore, it is partially behind a wall and gate.
