Two adjacent bridges over the Newport River.
The N59 Bridge: This is a lower, functional road bridge with three arches (a central elliptical arch and two side arches) dating from the 19th century. In official documents of the Mayo County Council, it is usually referred to as the Newport Bridge.
Seven Arches Bridge (Railway Viaduct): This is the iconic structure with the seven arches that you can see from the N59. It is a former railway viaduct from 1892 that is now part of the Great Western Greenway (walking and cycling path).
