Mannin Bay is an inlet of the Atlantic Ocean and is known for its clear water and beaches consisting of sand formed by calcareous algae (also called 'coral beach'). The rocky coast in the foreground is largely covered with a dense layer of brown algae. In the background is the rolling, rocky hilly landscape of the townland of Maum.
