"Clare's Rock House" was built in 2006-2007. Due to its location in a fragile nature reserve, this house is a result of the "Burren House Design" guidelines. This explains why the property, despite its modern origins, features elements such as natural stone facades and a specific roofline designed to visually blend into the rocky surroundings. The use of local grey limestone on the facade was required to visually 'anchor' the home in the rocky soil of the Burren.
Update 2026: Although the house appeared to be a new private estate in 2008, it now (in 2026) functions as a luxury holiday home for larger groups under the name "Clare's Rock House". It features a large, professionally equipped kitchen and communal areas specifically designed for groups.
