Glebe House (also known as the bishop's or abbot's residence) on the grounds of Kilmacduagh. It is one of the best-preserved buildings on the entire site. The building is a medieval tower house of rough limestone, typical of the west of Ireland. Glebe House presumably dates from the 14th or 15th century and served as the residence for the abbot or bishop of the Diocese of Kilmacduagh. It combines living comfort with defensibility — very common for ecclesiastical officials in turbulent medieval Ireland.
