The front spindle will be made from a 3/4" stainless rod, with spoke flanges machined from 3.5" diameter x 1" thick brass which will be brazed to the spindle. I found 3/4"x46mmx14mm bearings at the local Lordco. Each bearing will be sandwiched between the flange and a retaining clip with some kind of retaining adhesive (LockTite?). The cranks will be attached using the normal method on the originals, using a tapered cotter pin.
