Green Heron's are abundant along the Texas Gulf Coast. The photos in this gallery were taken by me as I visited the rivers, creeks, lakes and streams of Wildlife parks and Refuge's. The Green Heron is a solitary and secretive bird that forages in swamps, along creeks and streams, in marches, ponds, lake edges, and pastures. It eats small fish, invertebrates, insects, frogs, and other small animals.
