11-CR 607-Hamilton Co.jpg

Hamilton County, Texas

A very rare Pony Warren Truss Bridge with a Camleback Design. Built in 1920, on County Road 607, in Hamilton County, Texas, spans Waring Creek. As you can see this bridge is in no condition for any kind of travel and the road ends at the bridge

I believe that this is a Half-Hip Polygonal Warren with Verticals. The Camelback design is specifically a 5 section top chord. The lack of a vertical in the first section defines a "Half-Hip" design. Magnificent Bridge!

I have traveled accross this bridge hundreds of times in my youth as I live less than a mile to the west of this bridge. I hope the bridge will be saved.
