CR 240-Sandy Creek, Gonzales County

A pile of scrap steel is all that is left of the bridge that crossed Sandy Creek, in northern Gonzales County. It may have been a small Pratt Through Truss, but it is impossible to tell with out getting closer. The steel is on private property 100 yards north of the creek. According to the state site it was built in 1910 and was 106 feet long. It is sad to see old bridges gone and not preserved, it is even sadder to see them left like this one.
