CR 232-San Marcos River, Gonzales County

A unique three section bridge in Gonzales County, Texas with each section a different style, the center section is a Pratt Through Truss. Built in 1915 the center section is decorated on top with lattice and corner accents. The portal is drilled with holes that spell out the county name. The nameplates have been removed from both sides. It is very similar to the County Road 353 bridge in Gonzales County, A single section bridge. It has many of the same features and is probably built by the same builder. The south section is a Pratt Pony Truss; it is pin connected and very similar in style to the center section. The north section is a Subdivided Warren Pony Truss Bridge; it has riveted connection and solid posts. It looks newer that the other sections and is probably a replacement section, This bridge is 275 feet long and spans the San Marcos River, amazingly it is still in use today
