From Lambert Dome, looking West, the road follows the left side of the meadow, and then turns southwest and after a brief climb drops down to Tenya Lake. In the other direction the road goes thru pleansant forest, smaller meadows with streams, and a few lakes at Tioga Pass.
Lambert Dome is a short hike. The three overnight trips would all be rather close to here. The first one to the SE would return to this area via Lydell Canyon and the Lydell Fork of the Toulmne River. The second to NW would follow the Toulmne River up the Grand Canyon of the Toulmne River, the top of which is about 5 miles from here, and then I would loop back to White Wolf on Ten Lakes Trail (and other connecting trails). The third trip would do a loop to the south around and thru the Caatherdal Range where I would stay at the three High Sierra Camps.
Tuolumne Creek looks like it is going to follow the meadows (like the road) but it soon turns north and crosses the meadows, and then continues northwest to the Grand Canyon. Cathredal Creek also crosses the meadows further west, and finally plunges into the Grand Canyon as a nice waterfall.
Now that you are oriented, I will include more pictures in their own sub gallery.
