Looking at the map some more, I think the Glacier at the base is call tumbling glacier and feeds tumbling creek (where our camp would be that nite) and is at 2000 meters, and the unnamed peak above is just over 3000m. I figure the top glacier is between 1/8 to 1/10 of the total distance, or 100m , more than 300' hard to believe though.

How deep is the cornice?

Well your guess is almost as good as mine, since I am not much judge of distance and size. Obviously it is several of the cabins high shown in the foreground. And since it is quite a ways back it should be many more.

The only other clue I have is the cabin is sitting at between 2000 to 2,240 meters, while some of the surrounding peaks are over 3,000 meters.
