West Thumb Geyser Basin

I think this is the "fish hole" So named because they used to cook fish in it, until someone got hurt.
It isn't allowed anymore.

I also dayhiked to a viewpoint above the lake , probably something like what John Coulter might have seen? Then I drove down to Lewis Lake and camped and put my kayak in the lake (very windy).
