Hiking was pleasant. Camping was the biggest surprise. Most of the time the next campsite was a mile or more away! On Shoshone Lake I had my own beach. All the campsites had bear poles for you to throw (your) line over. One was very high. I kept hitting the cross pole. Something I couldn't do it I had been trying. It almost made me burst out laughing.
The ranger and I were wondering if I would want to do the 13 miles out on the last day. But was actually only 11 miles and much easier than my first two. Not much harder than my third day I dayhiked on. I was out around 1 pm. I reserved a campsite at Madison (horrible place) and they put me on what appeared to be a last minute decision to carve a space right next to the bathroom. I was too tired to want to do much but hang around Old Faithful and have dinner. Madison was a good location for seeing the geysers between Madison and Old Faithful.
