Note the blue orbital skin, blue cere, and white legs that differentiate him from an adult. When I went back two days later, the whole family had moved a quarter mile upcanyon leaving the nest area deserted.
14 May 2011. I recently moved to the high desert scrublands of central Mexico and live on the flank of an ancient volcano. I see Prairie Falcons almost every day. This week I saw an adult flying toward the mountain with nesting materials secured in its beak. I have followed the falcons with my binonculars to a cliff face above a canyon, but I have not located a nesting site, yet. My boots, camera, and tripod stand at the ready.

Great just great! A very pleasant hour looking at the pictures and I will be back.
