India is Everything

In late 2005, I spent 16 days in Northern India. I visited New Delhi, Varanasi, Khajuharo, Agra, Jaipur, Jodphur, Pushkar, and Amritsar. I prefer to let the photographs do most of the speaking. I'll just say that for me, India is exhilarating and exhausting. India is chaotic and calm. India is sensory overload. India is complex. India is diverse. India is everything.

Please take some time and view these photographs. If you are so moved, I encourage you to leave comments about the gallery in general, or about particular photographs. And please vote for it if you feel compelled to do so.

Please note: feel free to e-mail me if you are interested in downloads or prints for personal use or publication.

Special thanks to two other Pbase photographers whose images of India inspired me a great deal: Claude Renault, and Maciej Dakowicz. I highly recommend their work to anyone interested in India. I am grateful to Peter Malakoff, who greatly informed my understanding of Varanasi and Manikarnika Ghat through his website--www.petermalakoff.com.
