My first eclipse I photographed was in 1970. It was a TSE if you went to the west coast, but unfortunately I was 15 and did not possess a drivers license that would allow me to drive to see it, not that I knew much about what a total solar eclipse looked like. I had seen a couple of partial eclipses before using eyepiece projection, just like I did with this one. My mom held a clipboard while I took photos with my dad's Argus 35mm camera while I projected it with my Tasco 2.4-inch refractor. So, this was just a partial eclipse for me.
