For many, many years I had been awaiting this eclipse where I could simply drive to Canada to view the annular eclipse. Who knew that this would be interrupted by a tiny virus that has been making eclipse chasing very difficult. So I went to where the eclipse was going to be potentially the deepest visible in the USA, which was at Paradise, Michigan (86.5%), the perfect annular phase for this eclipse was 88%.

Unfortunately the Sun was hidden by clouds for the first 10 minutes, and was only visible between a small gap in the cloud, then was hidden again, then peaked through another gap and finally became mostly visible for much of the remaining hour that the eclipse could be seen.

Frankly the clouds added some character to the eclipse.
