This had to be classified as a partial lunar eclipse; however, it was 96% eclipsed, so very nearly a total eclipse, and just half a lunation from the total solar eclipse, 1/3 of the way around the world. I had to shoot in Des Moines with the camera unguided, as my tracking platform was in Arizona. This was all right since those here in AZ said it was cloudy, but the images are likely not as sharp. The last half of the eclipse, however, was very dewy, as I had to keep using a hair blower every 5 minutes, as often as I needed to take a picture!
