Mars Observatory

This was my first observatory. The telescope I bought in August 1969 which was a 12.5-inch Cave f/7 Astrola. I bought it used for half the price of a new one. It was only 2 years old and the previous owner made a couple modifications which included changing the "tranportable" mount into a permanent pier. The telescope was $795 plus the shipping by rail from Oregon was a total of $888.89. The previous Owner, Raymond Nyles, also added a 3.25-inch A. Jeagers refractor and a nice 1.6-inch Unitron finder scope. I was 14 years old at the time!
