Jupiter is one of my favorite objects as it is continually cycling and recycling, with the features quickly changing. These features can be seen changing from one night to the next. Also the four largest Galilean satellites can often be seen nearby or even in front of the disk of Jupiter with the shadows either proceeding or following a transit of the moon, depending on what if Jupiter is observed before or after opposition.
Jupiter has 2 visiblly observable rotation periods known as System I and System II, plus the differing period of the Red Spot.
