I remember when Don C. owned it back in the 80's. We were friends, and I used to put my 4' x 8' American flag hanging on the side , so you could see it coming into Brant Rock. Have some great pictures from the top, during the day, and at sunset. Also pictures of us on the top....we used to call the cement slab used as a seat on the top, as the sacrificial altar...he it was the 80's.
The tower was built in 1943 as a spotting tower for German submarines. the walls are a foot thick and the entire structure is 15,000 pounds of concrete-reinforced rebar. It's 70 feet tall and has eight floors. The top three floors have 180 degree views. Now a private home. 1st floor - full bath 2nd floor - full kitchen 3rd floor - dining and living 4th floor - bedroom 5th floor - bathroom.....starting on the 5th floor is a spiral staircase 6th floor - office 7th - master bedroom 8th - living room

Yes, We recently sold our home in Marshfield and wondered who owned the tower and wondered how much it might be to rent during the summer? Any email address please? Thanks.

This actually NOT a Coast Guard tower. It was a Fire Control Tower manned by the 241st Coastal Artillery. It's use was as a bearing observation position for the 2, 5" guns at 4th Cliff. If an enemy fleet approached, it could report it's position for a vector. It would then report the range in miles and heading.

Thanks much,
