The Showboat

near the intersection of Madison St. I remember this place when it was empty, decrepit and in disrepair.

This was the Mavrides family diner for years before being bought out and going under shortly after . - Alex Mavrides

Found and bought a salad plate from the Showboat at an antique store in Boston years ago..I remember it as a falling down mess..but it was of great interest to a child..

Roger Carpenter road my pony up the gang plank and into the bar one snowy night in the fifties so I was told later in life. I wonder if anyone remember that?

There was no water. The retsuarant was only modeled to resemble a ship.

I'm so confused - Mike Mavrides was talking about this - was there water on Madison Street or was this "boat" on dry dock?
