Bishop's Tavern

from the book "Images of America - Wrentham" by C. Gordon Woodhams and Earle T. Stewart - Arcadia Press - 1999. "Bishop's Tavern at 513 South Street (now the home of http://wrenthamantiques.com/index.html became a very popular road house. It was located on what was then Rt. 1, the main coastal highway from Maine to Florida, and was a favorite meeting place for many going to and from the Narragansett Race Track. At the end of WWII, servicemen returning to Wrentham often gathered at the Hunter's Bar in the basement to swap war stories."
