Jones beach was a summertime Sunday family and cousins fun day , bbq and swim out to raft , swings and ice cream , I think I remember the owners name was Chet , my dad would talk to him and I believes woman worked at the store named June , I was about 10 years old at that time . Great memories !! We later rented cottages from Chet for summer with out house as well , I even remember one cottage near a swamp area had a hand pump in kitchen for the water

I live on the Franklin St end of the lake with a Block Wall(CMU)basement that was added when the cottage was converted to year round use in the 60's. It has a glass slider facing the lake which is fortunate because when it rains for more than three days in a row(heavy rain) there is a stream flowing through because of the hydraulics from the hill behind us.

These two houses (orange roof)are still on the lake (2010), but have additions now. The one on the right has the porch now enclosed.

I live on Lake Archer, and you're right ~ most houses do NOT have basements. we have a crawl space only.
