My wife told me I had best take a look in the yard as feathers were floating down onto the porch from the large Manitoba Maple in the yard. I suspected a Coopers Hawk I had seen twice in the yard this week but no it was the female Merlin that visited last week and she was in exactly the same spot on the same branch as the week prior...The Robins were not happy and two Bluejays then two Chickadees harrased her while she ate. The victim was a crow last week but something much smaller this time around and she stuck around for about 20 minutes still hungry I think ...looks like she may be a regular and the +-100 Redpolls in my yard are probably a big incentive for her and the other area raptors.
