I found it. No one told me about it but I had a feeling. Decided to check it out. Thought about habitat and something else, took a stroll and looking up I saw it perched. A beauty. It looks to be tame and awake too. It only got better though. I heard a Coopers Hawk. Went to look and there it was on a nest out in the open. Couldn't believe it. After finding the Long-eared Owl I noticed another photographer nearby. I asked and she said the owl has been there for about 3 weeks, if I recall.
Nice shot. They had a Long-eared Owl during the 2009 December Christmas Bird Count in the Britannia sector. Looks like the big guy is still around (if it's the same one).
