I was fortunate to have this Yellow Shafted (Northern) Flicker approach me as it cautiously and stealthly approached a bird bath in my yard. I was in a sitting position and did not move as any movement would spook this very skitish woodpecker. Unfortunately I was too close with the 400 F5.6 and wished I had the 200 2.8 and 1.4 XTC on the camera instead. I took several shots but was too close to get the entire bird in the frame. Approx 10% in canvas was added to the top of the shot so this is a bit more than full frame ..
