This guy builds his nest near our backdoor by the porch light. One morning I noticed the web was gone after the sun came up and I assumed a bird may have eaten it. But, the spider was back the next morning. This morning while shooting it he suddenly ran to the left of the web. I thought maybe another bug was caught but the spider disconnected a strand of web. He then dropped to the bottom of the web and cut it there too. He then proceeded to move back up to the center of the web and gathering up the web as he went. The last image shows him in what was the center of the web. I thought it was interesting that when he was ready to retire for the morning that he tore down his web. Shot with a Canon 60D and 50mm 1.8 lens with a 20mm and 12mm extension tube attached.
