Roanoke Island (OBX), Manteo

This lighthouse was reconstructed in 2004 and now
serves as point of interest for tourists.

The original was styled after a screwpile lighthouse.
It once guided mariners along a narrow channel
connecting the Croaton Sound and an area known as
the Roanoke Marshes. It used a fourth order Fresnel lens.
