It's disheartening to see this mighty tree that proudly stood up for hundreds of years,
now laying down and slowly decaying. With all their strength and resiliency to fire and insects
the sequoia trees have one weak point. They have a very shallow root structure.
Rarely, they can fall due to extreme strong winds, very muddy ground surface and soil erosion.
