The daily call-rolls were one of the most excruciating experience for the prisoners.
They could take several hours each day. You must stand without moving in all weather conditions.

A typical roll-call is illustrated here by the Polish artist Mieczysław Kościelniak who was arrested in 1941 and sent to the Auschwitz concentration camp.
His camp ID number was 15261.He survived Auschwitz and lived until March 1993.
