20111111 - Less Mist - More Murk

The wind came today and blew away most of the mist - but it left a dull grey featureless sky. I think I preferred the mist!
Last week I saw some real poppies at the side of the A1. But I don't think they'd have been worth a go, so here's one I prepared (much) earlier - on a dewy June morning :o)

Yep, the cricket season is well and truly over...lovely wistful mistiness here - I like the fragile warmth from that single light in the window...fab shot!!

Nice day for taking the roller for a roll through the murk. The photo is excellent in every way. Well done!

Won't be rolling out the greens for activity this day... Lovely Poppy for a most sobering day of remembrance.

Do you use that to help you shoot flat?

Superb photograph, I like the way you have focused on the roller and tree, but not placed it centrally allowing the green and pub to be another part of the picture. V

bundle up time...you'e got to be ready for the weather up there in the north...a hardy capture on a 'dewy' day...V

I guess no one is going to run away with it in a hurry.

Goodness the old roller...it's been years since I've seen one :)) The village looks silent!!

Love that big roller in the frame.

This is England.

The roller makes a good focal point, and an unusual subject at that. You could have been mischievous and rollered the white posts for them.

A foggy morning and an unused roller, we are a long way from summer days and cricket pitches

Well... it is supposed to be the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness. Keats must've had a similar moment back in the nineteenth century. Plus ca change....

The prettiest murk I have ever seen. Is this your home? :)
Nancy Lobaugh11-Nov-2011 18:26
that looks like it would be great for flattening leaf piles!

A few laps round the Green towing that roller and you won't notice the murk at all! ;)
