Ha - you can tell from that, err, 'smile' that things aren't going well!
I decided to give the tri-flip reflector another outing, this time with the light-stand. But a light stand needs flat ground - and I was on a hillside in a valley, the sun was sinking fast too. Once I'd bricked down the light-stand, it was still too windy and the big reflector thingy was flapping around all over the place :o(
I set the camera in manual exposure but forgot to compensate for the sun setting so the light was getting less and less and my pic was getting more and more under. I should've twigged when I tried a tiny bit of fill-flash from camera right - I'd set it two stops under but it was far too bright, so instead of realising my proper exposure was too low, I set the flash to 5 stops under instead!
Well, you live and learn! As it turn out, it seems I was only about 2/3 of a stop underexposed anyway. Annoying tho.
To explain - the light on me coming from the left of the pic isn't direct sunlight - it's reflected from the tri-flip thingy. I was sat in the shade - 'cos that's sort of how it shows the reflectors being used in the videos... I really need a small assistant I think ;o)
Oh - one other thing that didn't go to plan - got me 'at on backards! lol
