Took my shiny new TriFlip/TriGrip reflector out for a test drive tonight. I wasn't very convinced out in the great outdoors looking at the LCD screen on the camera but now I've got the piccies home, it does seem to do sumfink!
This was with the silver/white cover reflecting some milky sunshine.

But it's a bit difficult to position and keep in place - I took a cheapo tripod to stick it on, but it was nowhere near man-enough for the job. I should've taken the light stand I bought for it, but that seemed too big and heavy to lug. Bet it would've blown over anyway, needs sandbags I think. Hmmm.
