20091207 - Chocolate Eclipse

Playing the shapes game.

This one's very 'Blue Peter': One carboard box, three sheets of white A4 paper, one blue-gel, one glass diamond and one lid from a jar of hot chocolate (mmmm - hot choccy!). NB. Double-sided sticky-tape optional - I didn't use any, but you could stick some somewhere if you really felt like it ;o) I suppose this isn't meaning much to our non UK chums! lol

As above, it was shot with a blue-gel on a remote flash through the glass diamond sitting in a hole in the box (the flash sticking through a hole in the side of the box). The choccy lid goes on top of the diamond. The white A4 goes between the diamond and the box - it also has a hole for the diamond. Careful with those scissors kids - best get an adult to help :o)

I wasn't too sure about the blue when it arrived in the pooter, so I inverted the hue to make a chocolatey/sunshiney yellowy-brown. With a nice little green blob as a bonus.

Back home now following a weekend away for sis's birthday... good job we had someone to help with blowing out the candles and tying knots and things...

I have no idea about your jelly jars and sticky tape, but the effect is great. V I was expecting a cookie, uh, biscuit.

I've said this before - you've got too much time on your hands - but the results are amazing!
Máire Uí Mhaicín08-Dec-2009 19:07
You go to even more trouble than Mother Nature does to arrange an eclipse. Equally impressive result!
