This was going to be called "Picking out the Perimeter of Pinker's Pond under Penhill" - but Pinker's Pond is bigger than I thought and the edges not at all well defined. So Soggy Socks was the result. The idea was to walk around the perimeter and light it with flash - I got about half way around before I decided it wasn't really a good idea - so I suppose I might as well have just carried on.
But Penhill is too small. What I think I should've done was use a longer lens from a higher viewpoint - and not bothered at all with the flashes!
A bit of photo-fettling here too as 17 mins just wasn't enough even at ISO200 despite there being nearly half a Moon to play with.
Plus, it was just too windy as you can see from the wobbly star-trails. Maybe I should've hung the camera bag on the tripod.
Finally - Pinker's Pond isn't usually a pond at all, it's normally just a bit marshy. It's only when we've had some rain that it collects any noticeable water.
