20091116 - Elemental

This was supposed to be a 5-minute test-shot. When the dark-frame subtraction finished, I was just positioning the camera for the next try when the few drops of rain ganged together and became torrential! So, I packed up and headed home... so this is it.
Three blasts of flash from the left, one from the right.

Canon EOS 5D ,Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM
378s f/5.6 at 17.0mm iso400 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

Very nicely done, interruption notwithstanding. Strange how they freeze in bright lights, just like deer...

it looks as if the tree itself is also trying to scramble out of the rain...highly charged image...kinetic, whirling sky tops it off...V

The lighting effects on the lefthand branches is weird and brilliant all at once! V. I think you should have braved the weather and taken a few more to show us... :o)

What more could you possibly want...other than dry weather ;) The folks in town must be discussing the strange flashing lights on the hill by now, surely ??? :)
Colin Storey16-Nov-2009 21:19
This a fantastic test shot, glad it rained, would have missed not seeing this one.
Bob Floyd16-Nov-2009 21:10
Really cool, sir. Might have interesting to add a blast of flash from directly behind the tree too (just thinking out loud there).
Guest 16-Nov-2009 21:05
Very 50's horror movie
Mairéad16-Nov-2009 20:58
Very dramatic - and mean of the weather not to co-operate.
