20090804 - Addled not Ingled

Oops - yesterday's pic was Addlebrough, not Inglebrough! No idea what made me put that! I didn't realise 'til Big Paul put his comment on and I thought "erm...d'oh!"

So, here's my 'addlenook' fireplace! lol

Was going to go out for a sunsetty pic, but when I looked out of the window, a HUGE splodge of cloud arrived, so I'm staying in.

The clock - I've given up buying batteries for it!!!

NB. This pic wasn't quite straight, I lined it up with the picture - which wasn't straight. Between that and the distortions from the lens, it's ended up being a bit warped and mangled... gives me strange wobbly feelings looking at it! Ah well.

NB2. Lighting the fire would have made such a difference... but there are limits!!! Phew, etc. Maybe it 'is' a barbecue summer after all ;o)

Excellent creative lighting - shows up the lovely texture of the hearth

Looks like a cozy winter's evening in :-) Is that a Christmas card?!

Great lighting!

Too many straight lines in too many different planes, getting it straight would be interesting, I tried it once with a monument and once it was square it looked horrible.

A grand old fireplace...like what you've done with it !!

slightly ominous...like a domestic altar with the trio of candles...comforting to have the stove standing ready when you do need it...V

A cosy looking scene even without the fire.

Who needs a fire when you have that flash, must get some heat of that, nice fireplace.

looks a bit menacing.... hopefully it doesn't mean an early winter...

Won't be long before you have to put that addlenook to service...

I thought you had lit the fire, just from behind . I like your painting by the way.

I'm learning all sorts of meteorological terms lately, yesterday it was a wodge of cloud, now it's a splodge, very edifying!
