20090706 - Looks Like Rain

I really wanted to try to catch a lightning bolt, but ran out of both time and patience. The storm eventually got too close and I couldn't fit it all in :o(

Wonderful skyscape - those clouds are excellent, dark, moody, threatening...I'm with the others here, that thin sliver of ground at the bottom just adds scale and perspective, and emphasises the huge scale of the storm...V+

To the photo: A DREAM. I have done a few other sky shots with this same composition of keeping the land as minimal a possible...a way of making the sky that much more important and grand. In fact, this reminds me of some snobby photographer who once wrote, and I paraphrase, "If you're shooting the sky, you don't know what you're doing. Everyone has seen a sky." Well, F U buddy! This is proof positive that photography snobs are nothing more than photography snobs.

Those look like some big nasty clouds. I like the sliver of landscape at the bottom to give that moodiness.
