20090510 - Ure Tulip Sunset

view map

Hmmm, flash is too harsh and too bright - should've taken some kitchen-roll or something. At least there was 'something there' in front of the not-that-brilliant sunset.
But it's a good enough end to the day, been a bit miserable and showery.

Reminds me of tropical resorts where they light up the palm trees. I've always liked that effect :o)

Maybe a touch harsh but still lovely composition and saturation.

Good enough , its great, I think diffusing the flash may have lost some of the red on the tulip anyway

I think it's beautiful. Wonderful fiery colors and the flower is perfectly positioned and exposed in the foreground.

Good conflict here.

It looks good to me! I guess you have set yourself a tough challenge here to fit flash foreground into essentially a silhouette landscape. Nice work

Nicely done, not often you see the foreground and the background together like this on a sunet pic! :O)

A pleasant looking end to a very mixed day, weatherwise.

I think it works really well, gives a slight sinister effect.
Perfect book cover for a thriller.

Wow the tulip is great with the sunset colors.
(you did well with the flash)

An otherworldly touch in this one!

Well, I think it's a brilliant shot, Phil...the harsh light on the tulip, adds a whole sense of theatre, in which the sunset is merely the backdrop.
Fantastic.

Superb tulip (and BG)

Nicely done, I hope the Ure midge didn't bother you too much.
