I took this photo from the airside service road that ran parallel to runway 05-23.
I asked Maning Marinduque of PAL-DVO to stop our car so I could take this photo and
listen to the BAC 1-11's extremely loud engines during take-off from runway 05.

This photo was taken years before the malayan designed airport terminal in Sasa
& decades before the current airport terminal in Buhangin were built.

Behind the jet is the old fire station but it no longer exists. The current DVO terminal is located behind
this fire station.

Back in those days the airport grounds was maintained by a group of men using their
sanggot* to trim the grass which were then raked together as seen in this photo.

A Kodak Instamatic camera was used to capture this.
