I paddle (kayak) frequently along the south Florida coast, the upper Keys, and the Everglades. The coast in many areas is protected by mangrove trees and barrier islands, some of which present trails to explore. If you are quiet, observant, are there at the right time of day (or just lucky) you may stumble upon crabs, snails, rays, manatees, birds, otter, crockodiles(american), dolphin, or just peace and quiet !!
