Love the railroads around the world.. still a FEW steam engines running in the USA but only very limited routes for fun.
Nice memories..Used to love to stand on the bridge as steam locomotives passed under with smoke being blocked for that bit of time..then back into the sky on the other side.
BTW, it took many,many years before they could design and build a modern locomotive that produced the 6,000 horsepower of largest steam engines of the past 8-) And still not many.
Hi Dang, I have to agree, modern trains may be more power full and are probably more eco friendly but you can't beat the character of steam.

I miss the old steamers that use to run the rails here. I know the new ones are more powerful, but the character just isn't the same. Very crisp shot, makes me want to jump on & ride. Thanks for sharing.
