Hi John and thanks for the comment. Believe it or not I did have a tripod but it was really windy and also pouring of rain on this night. I did mess about with this a little in PS but quite liked the seperation on the trees in the end. Milton Keynes does unfortunately have a lot of light polution, not helped by the rain in this case, I suspect.
I have two suggestions: 1) get Photoshop, if you already have it use some of the color hue/ saturation tools to fix the sky so it doesn’t look so red; I think it detracts from the image. 2) Was this shot handheld? It looks like it was. One of the best photographic tools I have is my tripod. This shot would have benefited from stability.
